Ah, hormones. My problem from the previous post has been cleared up. And while it’s not a very pleasant experience, I’m glad it came. Except for the cramps from hell and enormous amounts of fatigue, all is well. And people tell me I’m nuts hoping for early menopause. Bah! Now for the change of pace part. I finally had enough of the sheer chaos that my Starbucks store is, and got myself another job, still very part time, but more to my liking I think. I start training at Borders today! Being a major bookworm a discount there will do me very nicely, thank you. Plus they have a coffee shop too, which I will also be working at, which I’m glad of. I like the coffee shop environment. But coffee and books? Bestill my heart! So the next 2 weeks are going to be a bit crazed for me, working the 2 jobs, but it will be worth it in the end I think. I can’t wait to get rid of those stupid green aprons! Whee!!!!
Um, well, right here actually. I’m going on month number 2 with no period (I’m only 29, and no, not pregnant) and my hormones are a tad whacko at the moment, which sometimes leaves me completely uninterested in Blogland. Nothing leaves me uninterested in crafting however, and my latest endeavor, a fairly large one is complete. The Girl requested a monster bag for her school bag this year, and as is pretty standard for me I put if off until just 3 days before school starts. But today I am finished! School starts tomorrow, so this is a victory for a serial procrastonator like myself. I combined Craftster’s Monster Bag tutorial and Messenger Bag with Gusset tutorial and it wasn’t all that hard. But I must admit to HATING the blue fake fur, the cut edges shed like mad all over the place and I just finished vaccuuming up the last of it, yay! It is a wee bit wonky, but that damn fur hides most ills, so no one will notice except me, perfectionist that I am. The Girl is in love with it and can’t stop talking about how all her friends are all going to be so jealous. I don’t know about that, but I am very happy that she likes it so much and am very flattered that she asked me to make it in the first place. She seemed a bit stunned that I was putting so much effort into something for her, as if she isn’t worth it or as if I have never made her anything before. Kids are so strange. This afternoon we are off to a sneak peak at her school of her new classroom and dropping off all her supplies so she doesn’t have to haul them on the bus tomorrow. I am off to shower, and believe you me, I need it. I’ll try not to be such a negligent blogger from now on, shame on me. Oh, and I wrote this yesterday intending to take a pic and post all of this then, then completely forgot to take the pic. So here is the post, picl-less, but it’s coming by tomorrow, promise!

I have never been one to want to collect anything that I didn’t use. I always thought that having massive collections that you just look at all the time was lame. That is until I discovered the wonder of the Enid Collins purse. Made in the 60’s from either canvas, wood and leather, or from wood boxes, they are just drowning in cool. I want every one I see. So here is some Enid Eye candy, you can also check out the Enid Flikr group for more pretties, enjoy!

Pretty goddamn annoying to come home from work and find a bunch of spam comments on my blog. So comment moderation has been implemented. So hey spammers? Fuck you. Sorry for the potty mouth but this is something that really grinds my gears. We now return you to your regularly scheduled blog.

Of the two I like the beads better right now. Fresh out of the kiln this morning, available at Etsy and for more views click on the picture. The boy from hell is (of course) my son. Going thorugh yet another phase of waking up at dawn (no, really), throwing balls at the tv (Hubby’s 60 inch big screen), asking the most irritating obvious questions (“Mommy, are you eating cereal?” After watching me pour the cereal into the bowl, add my soymilk and sit down), and just in general driving everyone nuts. This morning it wasn’t just wake up at dawn, it was wake up at dawn, turn on his sisters’ tv (she is visiting grandparents), and spread an entire (large) bottle of Elmers glue all over the top of her toy box and stick paper in it. It’s now 1 o’clock and it’s already been a REALLY long day. After he goes to bed tonight (early, oh yes), I am looking foreward to a long evening happily torching my cares away. During his waking hours today I am doing the mundane, dishes, laundry, all that boring stuff, but I am working on a patchwork bag in addition to the smock, which I will finish soon. If I survive my hellish 4 year old that is. Sigh.

Up at Etsy right now. I’m also working on a smock, and I think I am through the hardest parts of it, I hope so, this is my first clothing item I have ever made, so my ego is quite crushable at this point. Tonight I go to work, I have a hefty 8 hours this week, wahoo! Oh well, I can’t complain, it’s nice to get out of the house if nothing else, although even going outside to get the mail is a chore in these 95+ degree temps.
